And so we begin...

I believe children should be children. Not little grown-ups, but just plain kids. A child's life should be filled with imagination and fun, without the pressures of the adult word.

I was in an upscale children's boutique last year looking for some unique clothing for my three year old daughter. Another woman was in there shopping and commented to the owner that all the clothing seemed so sophisticated for little girls. The owner stated that girls these days didn't want to wear "princess" clothing and that there was not a demand for that type of thing. I thought to myself as I walked out the door, "How sad." and that she was sorely mistaken. That conversation has stuck with me ever since.

Almost every little girl I have known under the age of five has wanted to be a princess, a ballerina, a mermaid or a fairy. Every little girl should be able to have those dreams come true. I am dedicating this blog to all the girls out there (not matter how big or how small) who still want to be a princess (or a fairy or a ballerina). Here's to everything fluffy and sparkly and girly!

By the way, that boutique is now closed.
